Amrit Agrawal
Amrit Agrawal is chief investment officer of Piper Sandler Finance, LLC and co-head of Piper Sandler & Co. debt capital markets. He is responsible for leading the private debt placement effort for public and private companies and has more than 20 years of investment banking experience, with a focus on capital markets as well as leverage and acquisition finance. Over his career, he has originated and executed more than $70 billion of lead managed transactions.
Prior to joining Piper Sandler, Agrawal was managing director and head of TMT debt capital markets at Cowen and Company. He helped build the debt capital markets business over a period of 4.5 years. Prior to joining Cowen, he was a managing director and co-head of TMT strategic finance at Bear Stearns. Agrawal spent nine years at Bear Stearns, with a focus on advising clients on complex corporate finance issues across the capital structure. He originated and executed debt, equity, convertible and derivative transactions. Prior to joining Bear Stearns, Agrawal worked in the capital markets group at Bankers Trust.
Agrawal’s industry experience includes energy, technology, media & telecommunications, aerospace and defense, business services, general industrials, clean tech, mining, consumer, transportation, education and energy. While his primary focus has been on working with companies in the U.S., he has worked on numerous cross-border transactions with companies based in Europe and Asia.
