Bernard Rechtman
Bernard Rechtman is a managing director in the financial services group at Piper Sandler. Rechtman develops and executes strategic solutions for clients’ loan portfolios and provides assistance to clients in select M&A/capital transactions. In his tenure with the firm, Rechtman has led over 30 projects, with a transaction value over $16.2 billion, and has provided valuable guidance on multiple strategic corporate assignments. He has led the firm’s involvement in renewable and select consumer and specialty finance asset classes.
Rechtman’s experience within the commercial finance industry spans 39 years and a variety of roles. Before joining the firm in 2009, he worked for GE Capital, MetLife Capital and Heller Financial. His roles at GE focused on commercial and real estate finance, including as managing director responsible for commercial real estate M&A, leader of bulk portfolio acquisition and disposition activities, as well as SVP/MD East Coast originations for CRE and equipment financing.
Rechtman is Six Sigma certified. He received a bachelor’s degree from the City University of New York. He is a former president and board member of the Real Estate Lenders Association.
