Charles Hamilton
Charles Hamilton is a managing director and senior partner of the Piper Sandler medical technology investment banking franchise. He has extensive experience advising clients on a broad range of complex transactions, including sell-side, buy-side and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, public and private equity and debt financings and other strategic alternatives.
Hamilton joined Piper Sandler in 2008. His prior experience includes providing equity surveillance and capital markets advisory services at Thomson Financial (now Nasdaq IR Intelligence). He also spent several years trading commodities options contracts at The Chicago Board of Trade. Earlier in his career, Hamilton conducted research in gene therapies for vascular disease at The University of Chicago Hospitals.
Hamilton received a bachelor’s degree in cell and molecular biology from The University of Chicago and a Master of Business Administration degree in analytic finance and accounting from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
