Christopher Hooper is a managing director and chief counsel in the financial services group at Piper Sandler.
Previously, Hooper was a principal and general counsel of Sandler O’Neill + Partners, L.P. He joined the firm in 2004 and was appointed general counsel in 2008. He was responsible for all aspects of the firm’s legal, compliance and regulatory affairs.
Prior to joining the firm, Hooper practiced corporate law in the New York office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. During his six-year tenure at Skadden, he gained extensive experience representing investment banking firms and other companies in connection with securities offerings and other corporate law matters. Hooper began his legal career as a corporate associate with Piper & Marbury LLP.
Hooper holds a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College and a Juris doctorate from New York University School of Law.
