David Kennedy

David Kennedy is a managing director in the services & industrials investment banking group.

Kennedy has over 15 years of experience in providing sell-side M&A transaction advice to private equity groups and their portfolio companies. He has worked with companies across a range of industries, including commercial services, specialty distribution, manufacturing and building products. Prior to joining Piper Sandler, Kennedy was a managing director in the commercial and industrial investment banking group at BB&T Capital Markets. Previously, he was a director at Harris Williams & Co. and a vice president at Houlihan Lokey.

Kennedy earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.
