Fred Price
Fred D. Price is a managing director at Piper Sandler & Co. in the fixed income group and interacts with the investment banking and capital markets groups. He is a member of the firm’s capital commitment committee and formerly part of the firm’s foundation board meetings.
Price was a founding partner and managing principal of Sandler O’Neill + Partners from 1988 until the merger with Piper Sandler in 2020. During his time at Sandler O’Neill, he built and oversaw the firm’s client service group, ran equity research and then worked as a senior resource with the fixed income group, the capital markets group and investment banking. Price was also a member of the firm’s executive committee, a frequent speaker at industry conferences and appeared many times on financial news networks like CNBC and Fox Business. Prior to Sandler O’Neill, he was a managing director at Bear Stearns and held other senior management positions in the financial services sector.
Price earned his undergraduate degree at Bakersfield College and California State University at Bakersfield. He also attended graduate school at The University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. He serves on the board of leaders at USC Marshall. He is on the board of trustees of the Penn Medicine Princeton Hospital Foundation Board and is a trustee emeritus at The Peddie School in Hightstown New Jersey. He is a board member and current president of Metedeconk National Golf Club. He is also an advisor to The First Tee of Tampa and The First Tee of Central New Jersey. In 2023, he was awarded the David Crosby Community Leadership Award for lifetime non-profit board service.
