James Byrne
Jim Byrne is a managing director within the financial services group at Piper Sandler. Byrne works closely with senior management teams at financial institutions to develop detailed balance sheet programs and tactics. These include portfolio investments and restructurings, funding and derivative transactions, capital raising and loan strategies tailored to overall corporate planning and strategic goals.
Previously, Byrne was a managing director at Sandler O’Neill + Partners, where he worked with clients on a range of balance sheet issues related to earnings, capital, liquidity, investments, funding and interest rate risk. Prior to joining Sandler O'Neill, Byrne worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in their mortgage-backed security sales division and with Zacks Investment Research in their business development division.
Byrne is a licensed registered representative and holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in applied economics and business management. He is based in Chicago, Illinois with his wife and four children.
