Jin Kim is a managing director in the Piper Sandler public finance group. Kim advises on the creation and implementation of general obligation bond programs for public agencies. He oversees all aspects of the bond program and issuance process. Kim manages the debt profiles of numerous public agencies, monitoring for economic and/or legal restructuring opportunities. In addition, Kim advises public agencies on financing capital facilities and solving budgetary cash-flow issues.
Kim’s capital markets experience includes both public offerings and private placements of short-term notes, long-term bonds and certificates. His experience also includes creation of multi-year capital improvement programs and implementation of real estate development projects.
Prior to joining Piper Sandler in 2008, Kim was part of a public finance group at a bulge bracket Wall Street investment bank. Before that, Kim served as an advisor and consultant to many public agencies in California.
Kim graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
