Joanna Brody
Joanna Brody is a managing director at Piper Sandler, where she leads underwriting of short-term securities, commercial paper and floating rate notes. Additionally, Brody oversees the pricing and maintenance of the variable rate program. She has extensive experience working with a variety of issuers and credit structures. Brody also serves as underwriter for Northeast transactions and works with the Piper Sandler distribution team to successfully distribute deals.
Prior to joining Piper Sandler in 2009, Brody spent 16 years with UBS and its predecessor firm, PaineWebber, where she managed a $60 billion portfolio of variable rate securities and worked with the underwriting team. She was also a member of the Capital Commitment Committee and the Crisis Management Team.
Brody holds a bachelor’s degree from The University of Vermont and a master of business administration from Fordham University. She serves as co-chair of Piper Sandler’s Diversity & Inclusion Council and is a board member of Kids Creative, a nonprofit organization that offers arts-based peace education programs for pre-k to high school students in New York City.
