Joe Ramirez

Joe Ramirez serves as the senior quantitative research data scientist on the portfolio strategy team at Piper Sandler, the first-ranked portfolio strategy team in the 2024 Extel/Institutional Investor All-Americas Research poll. He is the primary architect behind the Portfolio Strategy Portal, where he spends much of his time developing new ways to model economic and quantitative data and building out interactive tools and dashboards for clients. Ramirez has worked with the team for over 10 years across their time at International Strategy and Investment Group (ISI), Wolfe Trahan & Co, Cornerstone Macro and Piper Sandler. He also spent four years as the director of data analytics at Tomahawk/Surgo Group where he led a team of data scientists in efforts to analyze alternative data for investment research applications. Ramirez received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from MIT and is a CFA charterholder.
