John Gast

John Gast is a director in the merchant banking group at Piper Sandler. He is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, managing due diligence processes, supporting portfolio companies and managing the funds’ investor relations activities. He joined the merchant banking group in 2014 as an analyst.

Gast holds board observation responsibility for portfolio companies Foodsby and Mike’s Hot Honey. Gast serves on the nonprofit board of the Minnesota Council on Economic Education, where he serves as vice chair of the finance committee.

Gast graduated summa cum laude from American University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and a minor in economics.
