John Sharp
John Sharp is a managing director in the financial services group at Piper Sandler.
Sharp is responsible for assisting with cumulative loss estimates and loan valuations for the prospective merger/acquisition of financial institutions, capital raising activities and loan portfolio restructuring.
Sharp’s loan portfolio restructuring responsibilities include maintenance of the loan level data and assisting with the development of strategies and negotiation of contracts for clients on residential securitizations, servicing sales, non-performing asset sales and whole loan sales for residential, commercial real estate, multi-family and consumer secured loans.
Previously, Sharp was a managing director at Sandler O'Neill Mortgage Finance L.P. He joined Sandler O’Neill Mortgage Finance in 1993 and served as a senior portfolio analyst since 2001. His experience in the industry spans 35 years. In addition to his 28 years with Sandler O'Neill Mortgage Finance, he spent six years with First Mortgage Strategies Group.
Sharp received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing with a minor in psychology from the University of Memphis in 1987.
