Jon Searles

Jon Searles is a managing director at Piper Sandler responsible for leading the credit union sales coverage vertical. He joined the firm in June 2021 to focus on this role, bringing over a decade of experience covering credit unions, strong knowledge of the customer base and deep relationships.

Prior to joining Piper Sandler, Searles was a managing director at Stifel Financial Corp., where he covered credit unions and assisted them in their asset liability mix, investment portfolio strategies, loan participation initiatives and various liquidity solutions. As a trusted resource to his clients, Searles delivers value-added ideas in a manner that senior executives, ALCO and board members appreciate. A frequent attendee at industry events and client visits, he enjoys the personal interaction that comes along with a sales coverage role, as well as the relationships that are developed.

Before working in financial services, Searles pursued a professional baseball career that lasted ten years. He was a pitcher in the minor leagues for the Pirates, Expos, Cubs, Red Sox and Padres after being drafted in the 8th round from high school. During his playing days, he attended the Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a bachelor's degree in finance.
