Jorge Puente

Jorge Puente is a managing director at Piper Sandler and chief operating officer of the firm's financial strategies group. He works as a senior strategist with financial institutions on balance sheet management through the investment portfolio, wholesale funding and derivative solutions. As COO, he is also responsible for the marketing, analytics, fixed income strategy and modelling capacities of the financial strategies group. He has been a member of FDIC advisory teams and a speaker at industry seminars and for the FDIC and OCC.

Prior to joining Sandler O’Neill & Partners, L.P. in 2011, Puente was a global fixed income associate portfolio manager at AllianceBernstein.

Puente holds a master's degree in finance from The Stern School of Business at New York University and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.
