Justin Monwai

Justin Monwai is senior vice president in the Piper Sandler public finance group and has been with the firm since 1997. His expertise entails working with cities, counties and ports in the State of Washington, as well as special purpose districts and assessment districts. Monwai is responsible for developing and maintaining investment banking and advisory relationships with his extensive expertise in the development and execution of financing plans for local governments, including preparing financial analyses and the technical analysis involved in underwriting bond issues, determining alternative debt service structures that might benefit the issuer, as well as credit strategy and rating agency interaction. Monwai’s strong analytical background has proven valuable in his role as lead investment banker or financial advisor to many of the region’s municipalities.

Monwai holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and was a member of the National Dean’s List upon graduation.
