Kalle Fernandez Staps

Kalle Fernandez Staps is a director in the activist defense and shareholder engagement group within the Piper Sandler investment banking platform.

Kalle has more than 12 years of experience in shareholder activism defense, corporate finance strategy, transaction advisory and investment banking. Prior to joining Piper Sandler, Kalle helped lead shareholder activism defense at Ernst & Young Capital Advisors where he focused on advising public and pre-IPO companies on activism preparation and response strategies. Prior to that role, Kalle was a senior manager at EY where he managed complex valuations of multinational entities in the North American, European and Asian markets. Kalle also served as an investment banking analyst in the diversified industrials coverage team at Jefferies.

Kalle was born in Spain and raised in the Netherlands and Belgium until moving to the U.S. where he got his master’s degree from the University of Virginia and a bachelor of business administration in finance from the College of William and Mary. Kalle is a CFA charterholder and a licensed CPA in Illinois.
