Lauren Webster is a managing director in the technology investment banking group at Piper Sandler. Previously, she was a partner at DBO Partners (DBO), providing advisory services to enterprise technology, aerospace and defense, and security companies, as well as to investors in these markets.
Webster’s transaction experience at DBO totals over $8 billion in value and spans aerospace and defense, cybersecurity and broader enterprise software verticals. Her recent transactions include the $1.4 billion Series A capital raise by Sierra Space, the $2.4 billion sale of AECOM’s government services business to Lindsay Goldberg & American Securities, and the sales of cybersecurity and identity companies to Palo Alto Networks, CyberArk, Splunk and leading enterprise software sponsors.
Previously, Webster served in operating roles at multiple cybersecurity companies – as the head of product for RedOwl Analytics, a behavioral analytics solution for security and compliance, and then leading analytic integration across products at Forcepoint, following the sale of RedOwl to Forcepoint. Prior to her operational experience, she was an advisor at Chertoff Capital, the investment banking subsidiary of Washington, D.C.-based Chertoff Group. There, she managed multiple private equity-backed exits for cybersecurity companies, including Thoma Bravo’s sale of Entrust to Datacard and Tripwire to Belden, and she provided extensive advisory services to leading private equity acquirers of technology and government services business. From 2008 to 2015, Webster served as a U.S. Navy reserve intelligence officer, supporting the Office of Naval Intelligence, multiple areas of the Department of Defense’s cybersecurity forces, including the Navy’s 10th Fleet and U.S Cyber Command, and the U.S. Pacific Fleet, providing maritime domain awareness support.
Webster is a graduate of Dartmouth College and has a master’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service’s Security Studies Program.
