Marc Silver

Marc Silver is a managing director in the senior living finance group, focusing on the mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. He has more than 30 years of investment banking experience and began his career as a commercial banking officer.

Prior to joining Piper Sandler in 2012, Silver was a senior investment banker at Raymond James, A.G. Edwards and Legg Mason where he was instrumental in building and leading senior living finance practices. He has been the investment banker and trusted adviser for more than 40 senior living and healthcare organizations during his career including CCRCs, long-term care facilities, hospitals and human services providers. He has been the lead banker on transactions ranging in size from $5 million to $220 million.

Projects financed include start-up facilities, expansions/repositionings, refinancings/restructurings and acquisitions, utilizing a wide range of financing vehicles. He has extensive experience in guiding his clients in the solicitation of credit ratings from the major rating agencies resulting in several first-time investment grade ratings. He has also served as affiliation advisor to his CCRC clients leading them through the process of determining the optimal affiliation partner in the effort to continue their mission.

Silver has been a speaker at client board retreats and various industry events including LeadingAge Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants annual conferences. He received his master’s degree in government administration from the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Delaware.
