Matt Somma

Matt Somma is a managing director in the financial services group, based in New York. Somma advises asset and wealth management firms on M&A transactions and capital raises, as well as providing advice to family offices and their respective portfolio companies on strategic alternatives.

Matt Somma has nearly 20 years of experience working with family offices and asset and wealth management firms. Previously, Somma was a managing director in the private institutional capital group at Truist Securities overseeing family office investment banking coverage. Prior to his time there, he was one of the founding partners and head of business development at Cresset Capital, a multi-family office focused on registered investment advisor (RIA) acquisitions. He previously worked at J.P. Morgan for five years covering family offices in Hong Kong, London and New York. There, he was one of the chief architects of Morgan Private Venture. Before that, he worked at MSD Capital in the technology, energy and convertible bonds group managing $2.5B AUM across public and private securities. 

Somma graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.
