Michael Bailey

Michael Bailey is a managing director at Piper Sandler and co-head of the municipal trading group. In addition to serving as head of the taxable municipal trading desk, he oversees all secondary and competitive taxable municipal risk at the firm.

Prior to joining Piper Sandler, Bailey traded taxable municipal bonds at Wells Fargo, where he spent a decade building out their middle market, institutional and international taxable municipal trading platform.

Bailey graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in applied economics, as well as a Master of Business Administration focused on financial risk. He currently sits on the board of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Business and was part of the school’s Outstanding Young Alumni in 2018. He is also an active member of the Central Carolinas Big Brother Big Sisters organization.
