Nessy Shems
Nessy Shems is a managing director in the healthcare finance group at Piper Sandler where he is focused on designing and implementing leverage capital solutions and providing strategic capital planning advice for a variety of health care borrowers. His responsibilities also include developing and analyzing debt capacity models and revenue forecasting for health care clients.
Shems takes a very “hands on” approach to managing financings for his clients. This includes ongoing involvement through all phases of any transaction, from conceptualizing the plan of finance to the closing of the issue. He also remains in close contact with each client between transactions to apprise them of market conditions that have created economic opportunities with respect to their overall balance sheet strategies. He is a recipient of the Wisconsin Health and Educational Facilities Authority Award of Excellence for contributions made in providing capital to Wisconsin’s health and education industries.
Prior to joining Piper Sandler in 1999, Shems was an investment banker at John Nuveen & Co. and a research analyst covering health care for Nuveen Research. Shems holds a bachelor’s degree from Boston University and an Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Clark University.
