Paul Robinson
Paul Robinson is a managing director and head of equity-linked capital markets within equity capital markets at Piper Sandler. In this role, he is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of all convertible and other corporate equity-linked transactions. Robinson joined the firm in 2024.
Previously, Robinson spent two years at Nomura as head of equity-linked origination and 16 years at Barclays/Lehman in equity-linked origination. In both roles, Robinson covered multiple industry sectors, advising clients on convertible and hybrid financing, equity derivatives, structured share repurchases and margin loans.
Over his career, Robinson has acted as a bookrunner on over 100 convertible transactions and on a lead left basis on approximately one-third of those deals. These deals span all industry sectors, multiple geographies and multiple structures. Prior to joining investment banking, Robinson worked at Davis Polk and Wardwell for seven years, specializing in convertible financing and equity derivatives.
Robinson graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a joint bachelor’s degree in economics and government and has a Juris doctorate from Yale Law School.
