Peter J. Phillippi

Peter J. Phillippi is a managing director at Piper Sandler and head of the hospitality finance investment banking group.

Phillippi has more than 33 years of investment banking experience that includes hotel real estate, project revenue, convention and conference center, general state and local government, and specialty-lease financings with an emphasis on hotel real estate and public-private partnerships. Phillippi’s primary focus for the past 26 years has been raising debt and equity for hotel real estate projects. As the managing director and head of the hospitality finance group, he is responsible for managing the group’s efforts in originating debt and equity engagements for hotel real estate and other project revenue client mandates. Phillippi has successfully completed more than $40 billion in financings.

Phillippi graduated from Arizona State University with degrees in finance and political science. He is registered with the New York Stock Exchange and National Association of Securities Dealers as a general securities representative and is a member of the Urban Land Institute’s hotel development council.
