Stephen Joseph
Stephen Joseph is a managing director in the financial services group at Piper Sandler.
Joseph specializes in balance sheet management, income planning and developing asset, liability and capital strategies to enhance earnings and optimize shareholder value. Joseph also serves as a national product manager for Piper Sandler Loan Strategies, acting as liaison with fixed income sales, investment banking and other client coverage resources, with a special focus on innovative products and services.
Previously, Joseph was a managing director in the fixed income group of Sandler O'Neill and Partners, where he advised the firm’s financial institution clients for over 25 years.
Joseph began his career on Wall Street in the corporate finance department of Reynolds & Company. Subsequent positions include managing director and head of the mortgage finance and housing finance groups of Salomon Brothers, executive vice president and manager of the mortgage backed securities, mortgage finance, corporate bond, interest rate products, fixed income research and fixed income sales groups of Drexel Burnham Lambert, and chairman and CEO of The Trigon Group, LP, a real estate merchant bank.
Joseph holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
