William Gamba
Bill Gamba is a managing director in the fixed income group at Piper Sandler, located in the firm’s New York office. Gamba has more than 32 years of experience in fixed income trading, management and bond sales, as well as in government/government agency trading, sales and municipal securities.
Previously, Gamba worked at Sandler O’Neill and Partners, where he had been since early 2002. Prior to that, Gamba was the senior government bond trader at Tucker Anthony and RL Day. He then joined Cowen and Company, where he organized and managed their government bond/government agency trading desk and, eventually, managed all taxable fixed income trading for the firm. During his tenure at Cowen, he was regularly quoted for market insight and commentary in publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, Bloomberg Business News and others. Gamba then joined First Union Securities as a fixed income sales representative for a short time, before landing at Sandler O’Neill + Partners in municipal bond trading and sales.
Gamba holds a bachelor’s degree in business and management, with a concentration in finance from the State University of New York, College at Old Westbury. He graduated in 1985.
