NEW YORK– Oct. 16, 2008 – Piper Jaffray & Co. announced David Amsellem has joined the firm as a senior research analyst covering specialty pharmaceutical companies. He will be based in the firm’s New York office and continue to build on the firm’s expertise in the health care sector.  

Amsellem joins Piper Jaffray from Friedman Billings Ramsey & Co. where he was a senior analyst covering the pharmaceutical sector with a deep focus on therapeutic areas, and previously an associate analyst in the biotech sector. Prior to this, he gained experience as an associate in corporate finance at Vector Securities and also spent two years as a financial analyst at Salomon Smith Barney. Amsellem earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University.
