NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 13, 2009--
Piper Jaffray & Co. will host its Fourth Annual Clean Technology and
Renewables Conference Feb. 19, 2009 in New York City. The conference
will provide insight into upcoming technological advancements in the new
energy economy from more than 65 leading public and private clean
technology companies across the globe.
“While the environmental importance of clean technology remains at the
forefront, the green economy has become even more critical as a driver
of sustainable global economic growth, development, and energy security.
The current economic crisis has given us an unprecedented opportunity to
advance our nearly century-old energy infrastructure toward a new energy
economy based on technological innovation led by the many pioneering
companies presenting at our conference,” said Jesse Pichel, senior
research analyst at Piper Jaffray. “Investors attending our conference
will develop a deeper understanding and relationship with the most
promising companies in solar, wind, smart grid, geothermal, energy
efficiency and storage, water resources, alternative fuels and biomass,
green materials, and electric vehicles.”
Piper Jaffray has identified numerous private companies that have
emerged in the clean technology sector and this year will host a private
company trade fair for 20 companies in the industry’s first “speed
vetting” event. Companies will present business plans to investors in a
highly efficient and energizing format.
Investors will also hear a keynote address by Reyad Fezzani, CEO of BP
Global Wind and Solar, who will discuss, “The Future of Renewables:
Emerging from Recession,” followed by a renewables policy update from
Rhone Resch, president of the Solar Energy Industries Association
