Fourth Annual Piper Jaffray Global Internet Summit to Explore Challenges and Opportunities of a Rapidly Evolving Internet Economy
PALO ALTO, Calif. – October 27, 2008 – Piper Jaffray will host its fourth annual Global Internet Summit Nov. 10-12 in Laguna Beach, Calif. This year’s summit, “The Internet Unplugged: Challenges and Opportunities,” will explore the opportunities for emerging players against the backdrop of a challenging macro-economic environment and the ways in which current market leaders are adapting to a rapidly changing Internet landscape.
Through 14 interactive panel discussions, keynote presentations and institutional one-on-one meetings, more than 75 company executives, CEOs, entrepreneurs, visionaries, venture capitalists and industry experts, along with an exclusive group of investors, will discuss current Internet economy trends, winning business models, and the challenges faced as the consumer Internet matures and expands globally.
“Our conference think tank approach is unique compared to typical investor conferences – the goal is to provide investors with a deeper understanding of the Internet and media sector, company one-on-ones and face time with management teams,” said Gene Munster, senior research analyst at Piper Jaffray. “We will examine the ways in which market leaders are adapting to this environment, as well as the challenges and opportunities of an Internet that is no longer tethered to a PC.”
Munster and the Piper Jaffray technology research team, including senior research analysts James Marsh, Jr., Mark Murphy and Mike Olson, provide comprehensive coverage of the Internet and media, entertainment and telecommunications sectors. They focus on online media and search, media and entertainment, enterprise software, and online content, respectively.
