Third Piper Jaffray Solar Symposium to Provide Broad Perspective on Solar Power Landscape and Emerging Technologies
NEW YORK– October 1, 2008 – Piper Jaffray & Co. will host its third Piper Jaffray Solar Symposium on Oct. 15, 2008 in San Diego, Calif. during the Solar Power International Conference and Expo 2008, which the firm is supporting as a Kilowatt Sponsor. The one-day event will provide an opportunity for solar power industry executives, policy makers and key institutional investors, as well as clean technology and renewables equity and investment banking professionals at Piper Jaffray, to meet and exchange ideas about issues and trends in the solar and clean technology industry. Last year, approximately 120 institutional investors participated in the event.
“Given the rising demand for energy and climate change concerns, the world clearly needs to move toward new sources of energy,” said Jesse Pichel, clean technology and renewables senior research analyst at Piper Jaffray. “There is much debate about the value of existing solar energy companies, as well as the industry prospects for 2009. We believe the symposium will help to address these concerns, while also providing greater clarity with respect to demand, panel pricing and business trends. The symposium will also take a critical look at the emerging solar technologies that may have an impact on the broader landscape in the long term.”
Through management presentations, as well as group and one-on-one meetings, attendees will hear from today’s leading solar power and clean technology companies. Company and investor participation in the Piper Jaffray Solar Symposium is by invitation only. Clients interested in attending should contact their Piper Jaffray representative. Members of the media who would like to attend should contact Andrea Young at 612 303-6697 or andrea.m.young@pjc.com.
